2010 Summer Camps

Four week Intensive Performance Camp: “Peter Pan and Wendy”

Mornings include classes in movement, audition technique, Stage Combat, acting & stage make-up. Afternoons will be for rehearsals and Improvisation classes. Casting for the play  “Peter Pan and Wendy” will be done on the first day of camp. Tech week and four performances will be at the Historic Darress Theater in Boonton on July 23, 24 & 25.

Grades 6-12

Theater Arts Exploration Camp:

Four one week multi-discipline camp.  Choose the weeks to suit your schedule. Each week a different theme and every Friday a performance showcase for friends and family. Classes will be a variety of all aspects of theater. Acting, dance, improvisation, mask making, music, movement, play making & circus arts to name a few.

Grades 1-5

Week 1 - Animals

Week 2 - Around the World

Week 3 – The Movies

Week 4 – When I Grow Up

June 28th-July 25th       9:30-3:00 M-F             $375/week

Film Conservatory - I Make iMovies

A 4-week intensive film course covering all aspects of movie making from concept to screening using iMovie. Write, cast and film on locations in and around Boonton.

Includes two screenings at the Historic Darress Theater in Boonton. All movies will be submitted to NY Film Festivals and competitions.

This is an award winning New York Film program.

Grades 6-12. Maximum of 10-15 students.

July 19-August 14th      12:00-5:00 M-F             $1250.00


Intensive Audition Technique Workshop:

Get ready for school play/musical auditions. One week of classes in how to audition, do cold readings and choose a song. You will come out of this class with a prepared monologue and song. Two showcase performances at the Darress Theater in Boonton.

Grades 6-12

August 9th-13th          12:00-5:00 M-F           $400.00

Simply Gourmet lunch program available.

*Additional individual classes in dance available.

SANDCASTLE ACADEMY: SEVEN-WEEK PROGRAMS

DIGITAL PRODUCTION TEAM
Make a movie!  From inception to screening, this class includes all aspects:  screenplay writing, storyboarding, camera work, lighting, sound, editing special effects…and ends in a screening of the finished film.  Class size limit: 12 / Ages 12-16 / COST: $300 / Spring 2010

Ms. Cece sings and teaches singing. Ms. Cece’s musical studies include attending University of Richmond with vocal scholarship, and a Masters in Music in classical Vocal Performance at New Jersey City University. She was the first place winner in NATS 2000 opera competition. She studies vocal pedagogy with NYSTA, is certified in Somatic Voicework™, the LoVetri Method, and studied with the acclaimed founder of the method, Jeannie LoVetri.

Ms. Cece’s musical performance spans the realm of  chamber music, opera, musical theatre and vaudeville (at the Darress Theatre). Favorite performances include Mostly Mozart at Lincoln Center, Mabel in Pirates of Penzance, Vivaldi festivals with Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey, and Gesualdo at the Dramatists Guild, N.Y.C., Camelot at the Walnut Street Theatre, Philadelphia, PA., Rapunzel in Rapunzel at the Papermill Playhouse (the state theatre of New Jersey) and Nine where she played the role of Carla.  Most recently she has performed at the Bruno Walter Auditorium of Lincoln Center singing the role of Vitellia from Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito.  Also she just sang at RCC with the Rockland Symphony Orchestra in a concert called Romantic Arias and in Nyack the beautiful Mozart’s Exultate Jubilate for the annual Concert of Remembrance a tribute to 9/11 victims. She has premiered the work of many new composers, and is especially proud to work with two fine Rockland County composers Rosemary Waltzer, and Dennis Dougherty, both of Living Tree. Upcoming performances with Living Tree will be held in Nyack in Fall of 2010
